MEASURING FOR A STEERING SYSTEM


ORIGINAL INSTALLATION AND REPLACEMENT:

HOW TO MEASURE:

1. Measure as indicated above along intended cable routing.

  • A = Center line of wheel to Gunnel
  • B = Dash to transom
  • C = Gunnel to center line of cable connection of "centered" tiller.

2. Choose appropriate Steering cable connection method (refer to Steering Connection Kit section)

3. a. TILT TUBE MOUNTING -- A + B + C + 6" = Total Measurement -- Round the "total measurement" off to the next full foot. ( Most O/B & I/0'S )

Example: A (18") + B (90") + C (24") = total measurement (132") + 6" = 138" (11'6") round up to 12 ft.

b. TRANSOM SUPPORT MOUNTING -- A + B + C - 6 = Total Measurement -- Round the "total measurement" off to the next full foot. STRINGER SUPPORT MOUNTING (O/B and Inboards)

Example: A (18") + B (96") + C (30") = Total measurement (144") - 6" = 138" (11'6") round off to 12 ft.
